Registration

Every participant and presenter must register. Registration fee: $75 – Residents and fellows $100 – faculty members  (Registration fees will be waived for the guest faculty members who will volunteer to be the judges) $25 – Medical students

Abstract Submission:

The abstract may be related to the following scientific works related to perioperative and pain medicine: 1. Original basis or clinical research. 2. Medically challenging case reports 3. Review articles Please follow these guidelines when preparing to submit your abstract.

  1. Abstract must be single paged
  2. Font: Times New Roman – Size 12
  3. Mention the type of abstract (Original research, case report, or Literature review) above the title.
  4. Title: In Bold, Times New Roman – Size 14
  5. The list of the authors should be displayed in the line below the title of the abstract and the name of the presenting author should be underlined. The contact information (email or phone) of the presenting author should be included below the line after the authors line.
  6. The numbers of names of the reference articles should not be more than three (3).
  7. You may omit the photographs, charts, tables in your abstract and  may be included in your Power Point presentation

Although all properly formatted abstracts will be accepted for presentations, but will be reviewed by the members (or designee) of the conference committee.

    • Option # 2: Regional Workshop (14:00 – 17:00). Location: Point of Care US (POC_US)
      • The POCUS workshop  is eligible for MOCA 2.0 part 4 credits.
      • 5 stations: Focused TEE, Focused Cardiac ultrasound (TTE), FAST, Lung Ultrasound and Ultrasound Guided Vascular Access. Each station will have a designated faculty with simulator or standard patient.
  • 17:30: Awards Presentations and closing remarks Dr. Johnstone

Presenters

 

Robert R. Gaiser, M.D.
Chair of Anesthesiology
University of Kentucky, College of Medicine

Dr. Gaiser is the chairman for the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Kentucky where he also serves as a professor of anesthesiology in the School of Medicine. He previously served as the program director for the Department of Anesthesiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where he also served as a professor of anesthesiology and critical care, as well as a staff anesthesiologist. Additionally, he was a professor within the Department of Pharmacology, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and School of Nursing at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. His academic interests include education and obstetric anesthesia, while he focuses his clinical work on the care of the pregnant patient. He serves as chair for the Review Committee of the ACGME for Anesthesiology. He is a director of the ABA, chair of its BASIC Examination and Nonstandard Examinations Committees and a member of the Assessments and OSCE Committees.
